How to register

  1. Check the registration window. You will only be able to register while registrations for your desired cycle are open.

  3. Complete your personal details and select the test cycle with ACER.

  4. Pay the test fee.

  5. Schedule your session with ProctorU for your desired session time on the test day.

Fees

The FA Exam fee is $1500.00 per sitting.

Payments must be completed by the due date for the relevent test cycle.

If you need to re-sit the FA Exam, the full fee must be paid again.

Completing your payment with ASIC

Fees must be paid directly to ASIC via their payment portal before your registration with ACER is complete. Only Mastercard or Visa credit/debit cards are accepted.

When completing your payment, please ensure that the information you enter is exactly the same as what was entered when registering for your FA Exam. Application IDs must be entered in full (e.g. FA123456) with the 'FA' at the start and no spaces between letters or numerals. Misentering your ID will delay your payment being reconciled with your FA exam registration.

You will receive a payment confirmation email from ASIC once the transaction is completed. Please check your junk/spam folder if you do not receive the email.

Common questions

I didn't receive a tax invoice when I completed my payment.

Tax invoices are not issued for FA Exam as there is no GST charged with the test fee. Your payment confirmation is proof of purchase. If you have not received your payment confirmation email, check your junk/spam folder.

My payment status hasn't updated even though I've completed my payment.

The FA Exam registration and payment systems are separate. If you have completed your payment but your payment status has not updated in your ACER account, it is likely that the details entered when completing your payment did not match those in your FA Exam registration. This mismatch of information prevents the system from automatically updating your records and your payment will have to be manually reconciled. Manual reconciliation of payments occurs after the close of registrations.

Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication is used for your FA Exam registration account to keep your account secure. When you log into your ACER account, you will be required to input your application ID and password, you will then be directed to input an additional verification code from your registered device (usually phone). This code is usually generated in your authentication app.

Common questions

How do I download the authenticator app?

To enable two-factor authentication, you will need to download the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device.

What should I do if I can't see the QR code in the reset email?

Your browser settings can prevent the QR code from loading. If you are unable to see the QR code, try the following options:

  • in your email client, select ‘Show images’ or ‘Display external content’, as your device may have an image/QR code blocker enabled
  • download the email and open it in a different email application
  • try accessing the email on an alternative device. If you are using a work device, ask your IT department for assistance in viewing the QR code.
