Withdrawals

Deferrals

You can only defer your FA Exam registration once.

Late deferral requests are only considered where there are extenuating circumstances outside of your reasonable control, which occur after the standard deferral deadline. Late deferral requests must be sent to the FA Exam Office together with supporting documentation.

If you decide not to sit the FA Exam sitting you have registered for, you may defer your registration to the next test cycle. The deadline for deferral requests to be submitted is the close of registrations. All requests should be submitted to the FA Exam Office.

Refunds

All requests for a refund must be made in writing by emailing ACER at faexam@acer.org. A confirmation email will be sent to your linked email address if your request has been successfully submitted.

ACER will approve or refuse your request. If you meet the refund requirements (i.e. you have withdrawn from the exam before the refund deadline), ACER will advise ASIC and request a refund to be made. Refunds will be processed to the card used for exam fee payment and will be processed within 5 business days from receiving the request.

Please note, ASIC collects all FA exam payments and processes any refunds.

If you are no longer able to sit the exam you have registered for, you will need to cancel your exam registration before the refund deadline (close of registrations for the applicable exam cycle).

Terms & conditions

  1. Registration fees for the exam will be refunded up to the refund deadline for the applicable exam cycle.

  2. Requests for a refund of the exam fee will not be accepted after the refund deadline, except as provided for by law.

  3. The Australian Consumer Law sets out the limited circumstances in which provision of a refund is required. Where those circumstances are not applicable and you register but do not sit the exam, your registration fee will not be refunded beyond the specified refund deadline date without the prior written agreement of ASIC.

  4. All requests for a refund must be made in writing and sent by email to the FA Exam Office.
