If you are unable to sit the FA Exam in the exam cycle for which you have registered, you may apply to defer your registration to one of the future exam cycles advertised on the key dates page.
Deferral requests must be submitted to the FA Exam Office before the close of the registration cycle. All requests should be submitted to the FA Exam Office for consideration.
If approved, your registration will be transferred to the selected test cycle at no additional cost.
Late deferral requests are only considered where there are extenuating circumstances outside of your reasonable control, which occur after the standard deferral deadline. Late deferrals should be submitted to the FA Exam Office.
Requests for a late deferral must be supported by appropriate documentation (such as a medical certificate or evidence of jury service) and will be considered and approved at ACER’s discretion.
All requests for a refund must be made in writing by emailing ACER at faexam@acer.org. A confirmation email will be sent to your linked email address if your request has been successfully submitted.
ACER will approve or refuse your request. If you meet the refund requirements (i.e. you have withdrawn from the exam before the refund deadline), ACER will advise ASIC and request a refund to be made. Refunds will be processed to the card used for exam fee payment and will be processed within 5 business days from receiving the request.
Please note, ASIC collects all FA exam payments and processes any refunds.
If you are no longer able to sit the exam you have registered for, you will need to cancel your exam registration before the refund deadline (close of registrations for the applicable exam cycle).
